Here is a brief review of what we discussed at our Pre Trip Meeting Meeting. Please review and reply with any information, questions, or concerns you may have.
1) The cost for this event is $10 per person and rather than each family paying individually
we have decided that you can pay the Pack and the pack will pay with one check.
You can pay at any Pack meeting or event of if more convenient
you can click here to pay online
2) There is currently 9 spot available (we are allowed 35 people and 26 are signed up) The additional slots will be filled on a first come first serve basis.
3) Amenities on a 226 year old ship are somewhere between extremely basic and non-existant.
Please take a moment to view the information on this web page outlining what to bring as well as the Navy website
https://www.navy.mil/USS-CONSTITUTION/Hours-Visitor-Info/
so you and your family are well prepared and able to enjoy this unique experience
4) Parking is limited. We are allowed a total of 5 parking spaces so a solution to minimize cost would be to Car Pool. If you are willing to drive please email brad.morris@cubscoutpack410.com with The # of people (Adults and Children) your car can hold as well as who will be traveling with you. We will have one of the vehicles that is parking onsite be the equipment carrier for all families so when you reply to volunteer to be a driver consider that you will be transporting
People only. After we have the five vehicles we can figure who will be the "quartermaster"
If you choose to transport yourself there your equipment will
be transported to the site so if you want to combine
this unique experience with another such as riding the T go for it

arrival :
1600 (4pm)
Parking:
only 5 cars are allowed on the shipyard property - make/model and plate number are required.
There are parking garages in the area ( pay to park), however, we don't know there exact location, we don't believe it is within walking distance and do not believe this is the best option. The best option will be for people to car pool.
Also, many if not all may wish to remain on property to visit the USS Constitution museum after leaving the ship - please make sure everyone is aware in that if a scout/parent wish to go home right away they may have to drive themselves and pay to park.
Sleeping:
It appears as though we have both girls an boys on this trip... sleeping will be as follows per special events coordinator on the ship:
-Yes we can separate their sleeping quarters. Usually we will have the girls in the ward room and the boys outside on the berth deck. Another option would be to put the girls forward on the gun deck and the boys on the berth depending on how many scouts total you had.-
Which brings up the next point - sleeping is on the floor of the ship - need: Sleeping bags, sleep
CLASS A UNIFORM REQUIRED for Sunday formal colors.
Price per person is $10 (includes Dinner and Breakfast)
We are restricting attendance to scouts and one adult per Scout Family. This is ONLY to accommodate as many kids as possible for this unique trip.
We will be staying on the ship for Saturday night. Pack appropriate gear for sleeping on the deck of a 200+ year old ship: sleeping pads, sleeping bag, pillows. Be mindful of the weather (especially in Boston Harbor) and pack accordingly
Sign-ups will end when the 35 person limit is met
The USS CONSTITUTION is a unique symbol within our Navy and serves as an icon that represents our history.. Crew members will share the ship with our Pack to endorse safety by remaining with us for the entirety of the event..
We will expect your arrival around 1600; crewmembers will show you to the ship to stage sleeping gear on the Berth deck, then to galley for chow shortly after. After dinner, the Pack will perform various outdoor activities such as pike drills, gun drills and facing movements, followed by Evening Colors. This is the ceremonial practice of taking down the flags, and firing our 40mm gun at sunset. The crew will then take the troop on a special tour of the ship, after which the troop will play
some games with the Sailors that are based on Constitution knowledge or “Navy things.” At 2030, the group may begin preparing for bed. Utilizing our facilities to change and wash up for the night. Lights are to be out by 2100-2130. The crewmembers will be sleeping in a designated area of the Berth deck along with Our Pack. They will be in charge of head calls during the night and will be present in case an emergency should occur. Reveille will be at 0630, time to rise and shine! At this time, you may begin to pack up your gear and prepare for breakfast in the Galley at 0700. The kids will have 40 minutes to eat and wash up before Morning Colors. After colors, you have until 0900 to offload gear,
conduct a thorough cleanup of our beloved warship, and depart the Navy Yard. Again, you will have Sailors with you every step of the way! Most Packs like to visit the USS CONSTITUTION Museum after
departing the Navy Yard to explore the galleries. If you choose to do so, you may leave your vehicles parked in the Navy Yard until you are finished. If you plan to bring vehicles into the yard, we will need
the make/model information, as well as the license plate number for our security personnel. We can allow up to five vehicles into the yard.
